It sounds paradoxical for Amazon, a global consumption e-tailer, to get into the sustainability game. Guess what? The company has a new line called Amazon Aware.
Nevertheless, Amazon has established itself as an innovative company in tune with social voices and consumer preferences. For example, one of my favorite, Amazon’s latest creative ideas, is The Drop, a new line of business that facilitates the launch of influencers fashion designs via Amazon fashion. In addition, last week, Amazon introduced a new enterprise of eco-friendly categories ranging from clothes and beauty to home essentials – Amazon Aware.
This business move towards sustainable options has become a significant deal for some mega-retailers like H&M and Zara. So it wouldn’t surprise us to see more significant retailers jump aboard this ship. But I still believe that less is better for the environment. If we take a step back and reduce our shopping habits, we can lessen the adverse environmental effect of waste.
Amazon’s new business curates sustainable products with recycled polyester and organic cotton. According to Amazon, the carbon-neutral certified items form a part of the company’s Climate Pledge Friendly program. In addition, Amazon has partnered with third-party environmental agencies from OEKO-TEX to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and the Global Recycled Standard to spotlight products that satisfy sustainability standards and help maintain the natural world.
