Here’s Why I Wear Perfume At Home During Quarantine

To many women, perfume is the ultimate sensual touch that completes their style and sets the mood for the rest of the day. It’s an accessory we wear whenever we step outside the house regardless of where we plan to go. To wear perfume at home is an unusual thing to do in normal times! Right? We are living amid an abnormal state and are spending most of our time at home. The pandemic affected our lives, and, like many, I find myself clasping to routine in any form. That’s why I started wearing perfume at home. And in today’s blog, I will share the 10 best perfumes ever made for women.

In the early days of the quarantine, everyone was in survival mode and was busy stocking their cabinets with necessities. We didn’t know how long the quarantine was going to last. And eventually, we tried to get back into our routine lives as much as possible, like waking up early, getting dressed, taking morning showers, or working out from home. That was great, yet I wanted to relax and indulge, so I grabbed one of my fragrances and sprayed it on. The sensational scent of perfume instantly lifted my mood and energized my soul.

During the pandemic, we felt completely out of control, and instinctively realized the importance of maintaining a routine. Sticking to the same things that we are used to doing gives us a sense of comfort and security. Routine can help lower cortisol levels, therefore, lowering stress levels. Furthermore, Maintaining personal rituals, like wearing perfume, is part of that.

The link between fragrances and your emotions and memories

According to scientists and doctors, scents have the most vital emotional link in the brain. And because of that vital connection between fragrances and feelings and memories, perfumes significantly impact our mood and well-being.

Old civilizations used scents and fragrances as means to heel anxiety, depression, pain, and insomnia. Many modern-day studies show scents can help lower stress, relieve pain, and improve mood. Not only that, but perfumes are also nostalgic and can bring back old memories of a place, a person, and time. The scent of Oud transports me back to my childhood growing up in Kuwait, where Oud is one of the most precious fragrances of this fascinating society.

It’s a personal thing

The perfumes you wear are a way to express yourself and your mood. There are days when I feel romantic, so I put on a floral aroma like Gucci Bloom. In winter, I like spicy fragrances that exude a sense of warmth, such as Narciso Rodriguez Fleur Musc. Sometimes, I prefer to wear a daring and sexy fragrance like Chanel Coco Mademoiselle. How we use fragrances in daily life is a personal choice that we can’t make for others. It’s one of these things that you don’t buy as a gift unless you know that person too well. That’s because the notes you love within a formula might be completely different than the ones someone else enjoys
