You may have heard of ChicWish from an IG influencer or seen their online ads on social media. The company produces a broad assortment of elegant women’s fashion apparel with hard-to-believe low prices. At a glance, you may have thought the site is a scam! However, I can assure you ChicWish is a reliable business that has been around for a few years already. And I will share my honest ChicWish review and everything you need to know about this clothing company.
What is ChicWish
If this is the first time you hear about it, ChicWish is an online clothing retailer based in Asia. The company produces designer-inspired women’s clothing at moderate prices. Chic, feminine and flirty are ways to describe the versatile styles you’ll find at the online store.
How I discovered ChicWish
Like most, I also discovered the company online and saw IG influencers like Cristina Surdu elevating the brand on her website and social media. So last month, I reached out to the company and requested samples of their clothes to evaluate and review. The representative responded to my inquiry promptly and offered to send me any ten items I liked from their site. In exchange, I agreed to write an honest review of their clothes and business.
My ChicWish Review
Quality
I was skeptical about the quality of ChicWish clothes because the prices are low and made in Asia. And we often associate low-price clothes with low-quality fabrics and make. Some of you know that I’d rather spend more on quality pieces that last years than surrender to cheap deals. But, of course, that’s not to say that I never buy affordable mainstream brands like H&M and Zara. The pieces I received from ChicWish are similar to what you’ll find at famous international fashion stores.
I am happy with the quality of each of these items:
Tulle skirt: I didn’t expect the skirt to be puffy as the photos on their site thinking it would not have full lining or generous layers. Contrary to my belief, the skirt has multiple layers of soft tulle and looks lux. It reminds me of Dior’s legendary tulle skirts.
Bowknot knit top: I fell in love with the dramatic bow on the shoulder of this knit top the moment I laid my eyes on it. At first, I envisioned wearing it with the tulle dress for the Holiday season. But it’s a versatile top which you can also dress down with a pair of jeans or a pencil skirt. I should point out that the sheer fabric used in the bow is delicate, therefore, you should handwash the top.
Golden bouquet jacquard A-line skirt: The skirt is made for the Holiday season with stunning golden threads, elaborate A-line cut, and luxurious fabric. It reminded me of the 80s when jacquard was a popular fabric for evening wear and structured cuts.
Moon pattern knit A-line skirt: I instantly felt the 70s Pucci vibes while browsing the site. This groovy skirt is well-made: the knit fabric is thick, smooth, and soft. It’s almost as good as a designer piece making it perfect for office wear and formal settings.
Gigot sleeve square neck knit top: This knit top is the perfect match for the moon pattern knit A-line skirt mentioned above. The balloon shoulders are a perfect size and sit precisely on my narrow shoulders. I also love the flattering neckline which makes my shoulders and chest look wider. It comes in 3 colors, including a gorgeous shade of dark caramel, forest green and black.
Floral satin dress in blue: I adore this dress and can’t wait to wear it in Spring, around Easter, even though we’re still in November. The fabric is as smooth as butter and irons easily. The little details such as the pleats around the neckline, the buttons on the cuffs and the detachable belt are perfectly crafted and you’ll be comfortable wearing this feminine dress at formal settings, weddings, as well as, romantic dinners.
Boho floral short dress: I love boho dresses but I am skeptical about buying them online. Many fast fashion brands either use thin or stingy fabric, making the dress look cheap and flimsy. This dress has it all from puffy sleeves, generous material allowing the dress to appear ostensibly flowy.
Blue knit dress: I chose to get this dress as it brought back memories of a dress my late grandmother tailored in the late 70s. The dress plays with three fabrics and patterns: a pleated skirt, a knitted bodice, and the sleeves feel like suede. I wish the belt were detachable and the skirt was slightly shorter.
Double-breasted cape coat: capes aren’t one of the first things that come to mind when shopping winter wardrobe. However, a well-tailored cape coat is a chic piece to complement an evening style and is also a good option to wear on a warm winter day.
Hand-knit chunky cardigan: Normally, I don’t particularly enjoy wearing chunky sweaters or cardigans because I’m a petite woman. However, I was intrigued by the color and hand-knit flowers and thought, why not. I can wear a cozy sweater around the house or wear it casually with jeans in Spring. It looks like a piece someone knitted at home and has a vintage feel. It’s exceptionally soft and cuddly for a holiday gift.
Fit
The pieces I received are true to size. Even though I am only 5.3″ and wear size 2 or 4, I checked the size chart before ordering each piece. It’s my way to ensure it was the correct measurement.
The length of sleeves, dresses, and skirts is standard, which means if you are a petite woman, you may need to alter the length of your skirts or sometimes the sleeves.
I don’t believe the fit will be any different than other clothing companies that cater to the North American market. Consequently, upon reading online reviews from other bloggers and their followers, I can confidently say that the clothes are pretty decent.
Prices
As I mentioned earlier, ChicWish is affordable, and most pieces retail for less than $100. In addition, the company offers discounts and free shipping regularly on its website. So you’ll never miss a deal while browsing their endless options.
ChicWish has a secured payment gateway allowing you to use credit cards or Paypal to process payments. Nevertheless, it’s important to remember that the price you pay at checkout excludes your country’s customs, duties, and taxes. So, for example, if you live in Canada, the shipping company might bill you separately for duties and taxes.
Shipping
ChicWish offers free international shipping on orders over $50 USand free returns (the US, UK, and Germany). Regardless of where you live, you can choose a shipping method that suits your needs and budget. US shoppers can choose FedEx, USPS Ground, or First Class. Canadian shoppers can select Canada Post, Priority Mail, or DHL. Rates and delivery timelines may vary depending on the season and exact address. So make sure to review their shipping policies before placing the order.
Returns
And if you are not satisfied with the fit, ChicWish has a return policy that I highly recommend reading as it is different by country.
My final thoughts on ChicWish
Listen, I consider myself a savvy online shopper and have bought clothes from retailers and brands, luxury and fashion-fashion equally. There were times when I was disappointed in the quality of an expensive piece. And other times, I was impressed with the quality of a cheap item. ChickWish is a reasonable place to find elegant clothes that are well-made and affordable. From the perspective of a midlife woman, I think they curate beautiful dresses that appeal to mature women – elegant, stylish, practical and modest. The sizes run standard and their sizing charts are accurate, so you don’t need to guess the fit.
In terms of reliability, I haven’t had issues with shipping but there have been some negative reviews online from customers who didn’t receive their items or shipments were delayed. I cannot speak for these incidents. But I hope this review answers your questions and offers my sincere review. Happy shopping.
