It’s this time of the year again. Time to lay aside sandals and flip flops and slip-on cozy and warm boots. We are ready to embrace classic winter boot styles brought to us this year by our favourite digital influencers.
These boots are made for walkin!

This year, I started scouting online magazines and fashion blogs to find out the best boot trends for mature women. There’s no doubt that there are endless looks to pick and choose from, but let’s be practical, most of us don’t have enough storage space. We are here to help you pick a trend that suits your taste and lifestyle.
Most popular Boot Styles
Undoublty, the most popular (and practical) boot styles in 2021 are chunky Chelsea boots. You will also notice the return of slouchy boots, over-the-knee boots and sock boots. Cowboy boots are still trending this fall, but I’m not sure if they’re practical enough to wear in the Northern hemisphere particularly on snowy or rainy days. They’re great to wear in warmer and drier climates like the beautiful southern states, the birthplace of cowboy boots.
And what about over the knee boot trend?
Guess what? Over-the-knee boots are making a comeback this season. They are super stylish but let’s face it, as a working woman over 40 who is also petite, these boots didn’t suit the lifestyle I had. However, if you have a pair of these, don’t hesitate to wear them this fall and winter with a trendy sweater dress or a long shirt.
Which boot Style to choose?
We can only wish to have space for every single pair of trendy boots. But winter boots cost more than summer shoes and take up more space. Plus, they don’t last as long as summer shoes, notably during harsh winters. Rain and snow, combined with salt, can damage the sole and shoes easily. Buying multiple boots to keep up with the trends is unrealistic. Therefore, what I suggest is to stick to buying one or 2 pairs every fall; and picking neutral colors such as black, brown, and tan. Every woman should have a pair of original statement boots to spark her winter style. Think of bright colors like red or burgundy, ornated and embellished shoes, or even animal prints. A funky pair of winter boots can strike an exciting conversation with your friends.
Now, let’s dive in and explore the latest winter boot styles that make us itch to shop.
Chunky Chelsea boots
Chelsea boots are all over the place this fall and winter. They are increasingly becoming more versatile, slick, and a necessity. These are the type of comfortable booties you slip on and get going.
Knee High boots
The second top trend this season is knee-high boots. Be on the lookout specifically for pointy boots, stiletto or kitten heels in any color and pattern. Don’t be afraid to invest in unusual knee-high boots. You want to add some pizzaz to knee-high boots this fall with original patterns and colors.
Cowboy / Western boots
Cowboy boots are suitable in the fall and in dry locations such as the southern states. They go well with floral dresses, boho skirts, flare pants and jeans. And if you don’t like the classic length or style, ankle boots are a good alternative to wear. This is particularly relevant for petit women as such boots can look bulky.
Slouchy boots
The cool thing about slouch boots is they go with everything you own. They are versatile and look great with skirts, dresses, and even leggings.
Over-the-knee boots
Brrr! Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts that 2022 winter could be a season of shivers with bone-chilling below-average temperature across the USA and Canada. So what does it mean? you need to keep your thighs warm ladies with above the knee and thigh long boots. Good thing they are trending this Fall so hurry up and secure your warmth.
Sock Boots
Sock boots are perfect for special fall and winter occasions. Staying warm in skirts or dresses and looking slick and chic at the same time in skirts is a BIG fashion dilemma in winter. That’s when sock boots come to the rescue and refine the look. They are elegant, feminine, and elongate your legs so why not have a pair to wear at a party!

😗😘😍😙😚
Chelsea boots are probably my favourite boot style as I can’t really wear anything with heels on haha! Combat boots are fine too, but if they’ve got a bit of extra height on them I know I’ll struggle 😛
haha! I am a big fan of both styles.
